Marcus Davis is the Owner of Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. Before founding Davis Utility Consulting in 2012, he was the Utility Division Manager of HELPCOmm where for nine years he managed the day to day operations of the utility division including project management supervision, estimating and business development. During this time, he oversaw the dry utility design and construction process for countless residential, commercial, mixed use and municipality projects in VA, MD and Washington, DC. He is a graduate of George Mason University.
Gary VanAlstyne is the Vice President of Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. With over 35 years in the design and construction industry, Gary recently served for eight years as the Director of Design and Construction for Loudoun County Public Schools, overseeing all aspects of new schools and large renovations, as well as the Capital Improvement Plan. Gary previously worked for large, national builders Toll Brothers, Lennar and Beazer Homes; managing all aspects of large scale residential and mixed use development projects in the DMV region. He has also operated his own civil consulting firm and was involved in numerous real estate developments, public service stations, water parks and golf course developments. Gary is a registered Professional Engineer in Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York. Gary’s vast knowledge and experience in a broad range of both design and construction of residential, commercial, recreational and municipal developments make him a valued member of the Davis Utility Team.
Zachary Polk is the Manager of the VA Division for Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. Zach has been a key member of Davis Utility serving as a Project Manager since our founding in 2012. Zach previously worked as a Utility Consultant and Designer for Dominion Virginia Power (DVP) as well as various utility contractors installing power and communication infrastructures. He has a vast knowledge of different utility systems including the workings of field installations. As a Designer at DVP, Zach engineered a variety of VDOT projects including small and large residential and commercial designs. His design and field experience has given him a thorough understanding of all utility standards (with a specialty in DVP engineering), processes and costing methods which allows him to effectively communicate with developers, engineers and other project team members. His attention to detail as well as economical and practical experience in all aspects of the dry utility coordination process makes him a valued member of the Davis Utility team. Zach is a graduate of the University of Wyoming.
David Pelkey is a Project Manager with Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. With over twenty eight years in the utility industry, he served eight years as a utility consultant in the Washington, DC area. David previously worked at Cox Communications in Fairfax County serving as Manager of the Design and Engineering Department. He was responsible for overseeing all projects requiring system design changes including new residential and commercial projects, relocations, service issues, and State and County projects. David has vast experience and knowledge in coaxial system design as well as dry utility consulting, thus making him a valued member of the Davis Utility team.
Calvin Oesterblad is a Project Manager with Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. He manages the activities of all utilities from the design stage through construction. Calvin provides outstanding customer service while managing both the client’s and utility’s expectations. His knowledge of design and AutoCAD makes him a valued member of the Davis Utility team.
Damien Hicks is the Manager of the Maryland Division for Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. Most recently, Damien worked for Dominion Virginia Power (DVP) as a Systems Operator in the NW Regional Operations Center. He led large-scale installation projects, maintained distribution facilities, and coordinated the design and installation of electrical distribution facilities for residential, commercial and government projects. Damien specializes in developing best practices and standard procedures to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality. His exceptional record of success in the planning, design and management of process improvement makes him a valued member of the Davis Utility team. He is a graduate of Christopher Newport University.
Andy Young is a Project Manager with Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. Andy joins the team after many years in the contracting industry. He manages the activities of all utilities from the design stage through construction for a wide range of projects. Andy provides outstanding customer service and utilizes his diverse construction background in managing both the client’s and utility’s expectations. His knowledge of design and construction makes him a valued member of the Davis Utility team.
David Graham is a Project Manager with Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. David joins the team after ten years in the contracting industry. He manages the activities of all utilities from the design stage through construction for a wide range of residential, commercial and mixed use projects. David is great at listening to the customer’s needs, solving problems and takes a meticulous approach to his everyday activities. David’s attention to detail and experience as a contractor make him a valued member of the Davis Utility team. He is a graduate of George Mason University.
Matt Steigelman is a Project Manager for Davis Utility Consulting. With over twenty years’ experience in the construction industry, he brings both construction and land development knowledge that allows integration and expertise to design development that work in the most cost efficient way for clients. He previously led all aspects of large scale residential and mix use development projects focusing on budgets, completion dates, quality and customer satisfaction. These attributes allow Matt to be detail oriented, customer focused and a valuable member of the Davis Utility team. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and holds a Virginia Class A contractor’s license.
Joe Moore is a Project Manager with Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. Joe joins the team after many years in the residential construction industry. He was previously involved in large scale single family, multi-family and mixed use projects including cross departmental collaboration focusing on customer satisfaction, problem solving, quality control and budgets. Joe provides outstanding customer service while managing both the client’s and utility’s expectations. He is a graduate of Montgomery College.
Jared Savage is a Project Manager at Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. He manages the activities of all utilities from the design stage through construction. Jared brings exceptional customer service and problem solving skills to the Davis Utility team. He is a graduate of Radford University.
Ken Holmes is a Project Specialist with Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. Ken joins the team after 42 years With Dominion Energy Virginia. While at Dominion Energy, he was previously involved in large scale commercial, residential projects and municipal projects. Ken’s goals are to provide outstanding customer service while managing both the client’s and utility’s expectations. He is a graduate of Western Michigan University.
Guy Bissonnette is the Manager of the CAD Division for Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. Guy joins the team with over ten years’ experience at Washington Gas Light Company designing transmission and distribution piping facilities in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. His additional experience as a MEP project engineer responsible for coordinating and designing commercial building services provides the Davis Utility team with extensive insight into utility design, both inside and outside. His attention to detail and thorough organization is valued for management of CAD systems and production of quality drawings. He is a graduate of Northern Virginia Community College.
Andrew Manuel is a CAD Designer with Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. He is a Northern Virginia Community College graduate with continued education at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, specializing in engineering science and drafting design. He comes to Davis Utility with several years of professional management experience; demonstrating strong organization, communication, and customer service skills. His enthusiasm and commitment to quality design make him a valued member of our drafting team.
Cathryn Alfers is the Office Manager with Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. She provides general support for the team and handles day-to-day operations in the office. She helps coordinate company meetings and outings as well as special projects. Additionally, Cathryn is responsible for organizing and maintaining files and databases, and assisting with financial record-keeping. Cathryn has over 17 years of experience working as a business professional. She previously worked as the Director of Membership and Meetings for the American College of Nurse Practitioners (ACNP), a premier advocacy organization representing more than 30,000 nurse practitioners nationally. Prior to ACNP, she managed several other national and state healthcare associations. Cathryn holds a B.A. degree in Mass Media Communications and Sociology from Virginia Tech.
Tanny Gordon is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Davis Utility Consulting, LLC. She joins us from christopher consultants, ltd. where she was the A/R Collections Administrator. Her main responsibilities at Davis Utility include accounts payable, accounts receivables and collections, and implementing policies and procedures for finance-related issues. Her excellent customer support makes her a valued member of the Davis Utility team.
